Snap Terms of Service
Effective date: October 11, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Snap, a free macOS app for taking and annotating screenshots with optional upload to Google Drive. They also cover its website at fernandoplaz.com/snap. Snap is developed by Fernando Plaz (“I”, “me”), an individual developer.
1. Acceptance
By downloading, installing or using Snap, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, don’t use Snap.
2. License
Snap is provided free of charge. I grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download, install and use Snap on Macs you own or control, subject to these Terms. You may not sell, rent or sublicense Snap. You may not distribute modified copies that claim to be the official Snap. Snap includes third-party open-source components that are licensed under their own terms.
3. Installing an unsigned app
Snap is not signed with an Apple Developer ID certificate and is not notarized by Apple. macOS will ask you to approve it in System Settings the first time you open it. Only download Snap from fernandoplaz.com/snap. Copies from other sources may have been modified.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to use Snap to:
- capture, upload or share content you don’t have the right to capture or share;
- violate anyone’s privacy, intellectual property or other rights, or any applicable law;
- share illegal, harmful, harassing or abusive content;
- interfere with, abuse or overload Google’s services, or get around their limits or security.
You are responsible for the screenshots you take and for who you share their links with.
5. Google Drive and other third-party services
Google Drive features are optional and require a Google account. When you use them, your use of Google’s services is also subject to the Google Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy. Google is not responsible for Snap, and I am not responsible for Google’s services, their availability or changes to them.
Upload & Copy Link makes the uploaded screenshot viewable by anyone who has the link. You can turn off sharing or delete files in Google Drive at any time. How Snap handles your data, including Google user data, is described in the Snap Privacy Policy.
6. Your content
You keep all rights to your screenshots and annotations. I don’t receive your content and claim no rights to it.
7. No warranty
Snap is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. This includes warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. I don’t guarantee that Snap will be error-free, secure or uninterrupted, or that uploads will always succeed. Keep your own copies of anything important.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, I will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, content, profits or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of Snap. Because Snap is free, my total liability for any claim relating to Snap is limited to zero, or to the smallest amount allowed by applicable law. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under consumer-protection laws that cannot be waived.
9. Termination
You can stop using Snap at any time by signing out and deleting the app. You can also remove Snap’s Google access at myaccount.google.com/permissions. I may stop distributing or updating Snap at any time. Your license ends automatically if you break these Terms. Sections 6–8 and 11 continue to apply after termination.
10. Changes
I may update these Terms from time to time. If I do, I’ll post the new version on this page and update the effective date. Continuing to use Snap after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
11. Disputes and your legal rights
Snap is used by people around the world. If you have a problem with Snap or these Terms, please email me first at fplazrivero@gmail.com, and we’ll try in good faith to resolve it informally.
Nothing in these Terms limits any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have under the laws of the country where you live.
