Fernando Plaz Rivero

In 2015 I co-founded Facturedo, an online factoring company that operated in Chile, Peru and Mexico until it closed in 2025. In 2019 my wife and I started HUNDRED Active, a DTC sportswear and equipment company. More recently I launched qrmanager.net to fix a QR code management nightmare I was having. Right now I'm building formma.app, the first product of diiron.com.

I started my career at Linio, a Rocket Internet venture later sold to Falabella. Joining early meant working alongside awesome people who came from other Rocket ventures, or from Rocket itself. I then joined MACH (now MACH Bank), the first neobank in Chile, where we grew from zero to 3 million users in a couple of years. It was wild. Today I'm at Assetplan, one of LATAM's top proptech companies.

I grew up on Margarita Island. Since then I've lived in Vancouver, Mexico City, and Valencia, Spain. These days I'm in Puerto Varas, Chile.

I got my first computer when I was 9 — Santa brought it. I still remember connecting to the internet and hearing that dial-up sound (beautiful); I was hooked immediately. The notion that you could build something and distribute it worldwide was crazy. At 14 I got my first laptop, fried the disk a couple of times, and installed Ubuntu (magic!). I learned basic HTML, CSS and JS on W3Schools. Since then I've done coding bootcamps in Ruby on Rails and MERN, and right now I'm playing around with PHP and Laravel. Lately I've been building with AI every day, and it's the most fun I've had coding since that first Ubuntu install.

I studied Production Engineering at Universidad Simón Bolívar (USB) and completed a postgraduate diploma in Engineering Management at Universidad Politécnica de Valencia (UPV).
